New as an SVXer to Pittsburgh area

Hello!

I've had my SVX & been a member of this network for nearly a year, but I just moved back to the Pittsburgh area last month after living in Denver for several years. I only got together with one other SVX member (2 if you count a guy I bought some parts from) in Colorado. I've always wanted to get an opinion of my car from knowledgeable and experienced SVX owners who have had things go wrong before. (I'm always paranoid that my car may be making some warning-sign noise or symptom that I'm oblivious to.) Any of you local to the area interested in a meeting?

I'd also like to check out if a keyless entry remote will work with my car. The security system didn't work at all (besides the red light) when I got the car. I bought a remote, but ended up returning it, because my car was incapable of giving me the cue that it was in program mode. It hasn't been a priority issue, not something I felt warranted spending money on, but after having major engine surgery in September, the security system spontaneously started working. When I had the security button activated, the horn would go off if I got in the car w/o putting the key in the ignition, and the lights would blink & horn would chirp once after I got out of the car. Before I even consider buying another remote, I'd like to make sure one will work with my car.

Greetings one and all. I also have had the pleasure of buying my first svx and love it! I am also trying to get together with a few burgh svx members to chat about this car. I have a ton of things i'd like to do to it, but just need the right ideas on everything. Right now a bearing in the diff. is shot, so i would be more than happy to load it on a flat bed and bring it to any meet! LOL.

I'm located by west mifflin, in a little area called Haze. It's about two seconds from sandcastle, and five minutes from the waterfront in homestead.

Hey to you yinzer svxers. We have a great group of SVX owners in the area and we get together very often. We generally dont post when we get together because we're in better contact via phone etc. I'll make sure to let you guys know when we get together next!

Thanks, Mike. That explains why in Colorado I saw so many postings from Pittsburghers, but when I returned there weren't any threads about upcoming meets. We might as well go ahead in planning this little get together, though...unless maybe if it happens to coincide w/one of yours. You're welcome to join us.

Thasian1, I know exactly where Hays is.

I guess we can start figuring out when this will happen. Although I don't have a lot of time limitations right now, I figure that we'll probably want to meet when it's still light out, and after work on weekdays for might be tough for SVXfiles and Green_Eyed_Lady, who are coming from West Virginia. I know I'll be out of town this coming Saturday (27th). I'm not sure about Sunday yet.

We're finally meeting this Sunday (Dec 19th) at 3:00-4:00 PM in the Dormont pool parking lot on 19. From there we'll go get a bite to eat nearby, probably at Jose & Tony's Mexican restaurant or a gyros place called Tom's. SVXfiles & Green_Eyed_Lady will be there. I'm still waiting to hear from Thasian1. If anyone else is interested, you now know where & when we'll be!

d'oh, i'm working until 4:00 on Sunday. where are you guys going to eat - i could show up late. i grew up in Dormont so i'll find you.
