I believe that you hit the "limiter." I wouldn't know for sure, though. I know I've heard it preached that the 94 and later models were limited at around 135-140. Might be legend. Of course, in the same breath, it is preached that the 92 and 93 Models had no limiter and topped out at around 155. I wouldn't know, however. I've only had it up to 135-ish at which point I remembered I was riding on T-rated tires (120MPH). She had plenty of legs left though -- I just didn't want one of them to belong to a DEER!

i must be limited.

because i think i had her to the floor. no big deal really. i will probably never go that fast again. i only did it then because no one was around and my friend wanted to see what the car would do.

I know what you mean. There's nothing like having your friend (in my case, stepson) try to run away from you (in his 95 Camaro RS) and finding this (Pearl White) wart on your a$$ even at 120 on the straightaway of a country backroad.

some moron in a v-8 thunderbird.

challenged me last week. he got defeated horribly. normally i wouldnt race a dirtass like that, but once he got beside me at the light and began racing his engine..... i had to stomp his ass. killed him at the line and all throughout the powerband.

Speed

Same thing with me, the WRX hit 140 once. Made a video of it for proof. Havent done it since, even though it's on Z rated tires, the WRX is just too compact to do speeds like that in, IMHO.
But in the same breath, I will probably never take an SVX even up to 100.. just too rare and hard to find parts for.
However, I do agree with you Mr Pockets.. the SVX was built with top speed and aerodynamics in mind... Im sure it is -alot- better at the top speeds..

[With a knowing gleam in his eye] Um . . . uh . . . well, let me put it this way: You won't be able to help yourself. One day, you'll just look down at the speedometer and say, "Dang! I didn't realize I was going that fast." The SVX just "settles in" at 80-85 (which feels like a good 50-55 zone). 100 is easy to hit and hard to discern in such a smooth cruising machine. I've surprised myself more than once . . . well, more than twice . . . well, several times.

honestly i hit 100.......

two or three times a week without even knowing it on the highway. the car just loves to accelerate and be driven at high speeds.

be careful and have fun.

They are all trick questions to you sub-liminals.
We are changing from Pounds to Euros here in January, so I can't make no cents of your answer.

{Not a bad stab at American double-negativism, eh??}

Howdy

Hey Billy...haven't had a chance to say hi yet. I too am a 19 year old SVX owner, but I only own one car, and my dad bought it for me. He pays the insurance too. I'm pretty spoiled...and that's not bragging, that's just admission of guilt . I don't feel too bad thoug cuz I'm forkin over 20K for school...dumb? Maybe. Just hoping it pays off when I graduate. Of course now you'll probably tell me you go to princeton and you're forkin over 20K a semester . Anyway, to the topic of SVX speed. I got mine to 135 and chickened out cuz it was still climbing like crazy. The odd thing is that I recently raced a stock 2.5 RS and we were dead even until he shifted. In the time he shifted, I pulled a good car length ahead, though (and no, he didn't take 8 seconds to shift). I just thought the SVX was faster than that (I didn't think it should be even up to 30 MPH), especially with exhaust, pulley, and chip. I wish I could do some comparisons to see if mods really help, or at least race a stock SVX. Maybe at the 10 year meet, eh? I never see many SVX's in NM, and I don't think anybody else here is from NM, so I guess I'll just have to wait. So, welcome to the group Billy.
Mat-1
P.S. Anybody know where Mat-2 went?

Re: Re: Speed-100+

Oh man, you know it! I've NEVER had a car that had such effortless ability in going tripple digits. My bike is the same way, you get it in top gear and just roll on the throttle and before you know it you're at warp 9.
