I happened to stop into the ebay site today and couldn't help but notice that the current bid price for our Alcyone hood emblems was $91.00 plus shipping (and 4 days left to go)

I'm surprised that those interested enough to bid (probably SVX enthusiasts) haven't checked out the hood emblem threads on this site. They could have saved a lot.

Raise your hood and remove the latch hook. That should reveal the holes. There are three holes, configured "triangularly" two top, one bottom (I believe). Depending upon the condition of the double sided adhesive used to stick the emblem to the hood, you should be able to push on the little anchors in the holes and pop the emblem off. If the adhesive is still very strong, you can use WD-40, or "Goo Gone" or a similar solvent to soften it (so far, I haven't heard of anyone who's had to use solvent). Once it's off, clean the area where the old emblem has been (you'll have a dirty oval), then, place the supplied anchors in the holes, peel the backing off the adhesive on the new emblem and press into place. Then, replace the latch hook, and you're good to go.

Paul. That's more like it. That is what I paid for mine during the first "group buy" when everyone said it was impossible to get. Thanks to Vin Scimone, by the way, for breaking ground on this. And, thank you, Paul for being our "eyes and ears" over in Gunma >aredubjay bows at the mere mention of the name< . Any chance of finding one of the old engineers and talking him into coming to the 10th Anniversary Meet? (Well, I can "dream" can't I? )

That's exactly what it is svx1, JDM means Japanese Domestic Market, which uses the "Alcyone" emblem. I have one on my car and it looks great!

Is it $175 for a hood emblem or $75??? If it's $175, prices sure have skyrocketed. The dollar must be doing very poorly against the yen

As of this morning the Alcyone hood emblems had not had a price increase. can still order as many as I want and sell them for the same $55.00 to your door as I have always done with previous orders. Always a labor of love, not profit.

The actual cost of only one emblem is 3660JPY ($33.04US). There is a minimum 3,000JPY commission ($24.00US) plus shipping. That is why I order in multiples because the minimum commission is divided among all the orders, not just one. I can't believe someone is willing to pay $122.00+ shipping on ebay! If they are SVX enthusiasts, why aren't they aware of this site (and this thread)

I keep a spare emblem in case I get hit by the shopping mall gremlins for an addition to their collection. I can't imagine losing a $122.00 emblem to a 14 year old...

Prices for the JDM hood emblem are as follows;

SILVER Y4030 + 5% Sales Tax
GOLD Y3660 + 5% Sales Tax

With the weakening yen to the US$, I can do the Silver emblem for US$45.00 (including postage) and the Gold for $40.00 (including postage).
