Exhaust Donut Question & more!

Ok, as quickly as possible, it would be nice to know if the donuts are exchangable with any other car model, B/C my exhaust is all down for flex plate replacement, and its all shot. I can have them put it up without donuts, till I get them ordered, but that is kind of pointless if I can get the parts...

And an update on my car... Flexplate broke 3-5 weeks ago. drove 6 miles. in that time, I got close to wearing thru my engine block, and scored my bushings on the inside of the tranny.

As for the bushings, how terrible is this? I always keep it in tranny fluid (its always leaked). How long do I have on this tranny? In no way can I afford a tranny in the forseeable future.

Rear tranny mounts are shot too... oh well.....I LOVE MY CAR ANYWAYS!!!

And Mike, thanks again for the flex plate. and to all those who diagnosed my problem.

It broke 3 out of 4 bolts and the last one was MASERATED....ugh.

anyways... exhaust donuts!

The front pipe donuts off the manifold are the same as the 90-91 Legacy donut that was just after the first converter (the converter at the junction of the y -pipe). Later Legacys used a one -piece pipe after that cat. eliminating the donut, so only the very early ones have it. All the other gaskets are unique to the SVX, although some one might know another car company that used them.

dang..

Good and bad... IT RUNS! WOOHOOO!
Bad, its louder then a harley with straight pipes. which was really cool for like, 5 minutes. then it wasn't cool.

There is not even any gasket left to bring for comparison, its all rotted off.

Plus, while we were in the tranny, the bushings on the torque converter are all scored. He isnt sure if its recent, or old. any one gimmie info on how bad this means for the life of my tranny?

5 speed time.

But really, what bushings are you talking about? Is it leaking fluid from them?

actually no!

it was before, now it isn't. after pulling the tranny, and pulling the big ass blue gear in the front of it(at least mine is blue, he says its replaced), the long rod thats part of the big gear is scored. so is its housing.

I can in no way afford a five speed at this time despite my desires for it :/

Loans anyone? Loans to a fellow SVXer in need?

DON'T TELL PEOPLE THAT!!!!Then they will know she's sick

Its been like that for a year, never getting worse. wierd eh? the tranny mounts are shot in the rear, so thats the thunk I get sometimes.

Big blue gear, is a perfectly adequate description of a torque converter.....

I'm going to begin collecting parts for a 5 speed conversion...on the cheap. So when it comes to time, I can just go for it. Helping at the shop when they pulled the tranny, it doesn't look any where near so hard as it sounds...
