First of all you must have had a leak of some sort if it was empty. This could have been a hose or an o-ring that leaked. O-ring leaks are very common with these cars. I don't know if it was a very good idea to put STP in the system, but I would put Transmission fluid in it like it is suppose to have. Run it and then go hard over to hard over on the steering and refil the system. Then I would see if the noise goes away. Hopefully it did not wipe out your pump. I would then try to find the leak. You may need to clean the area first and then watch for the leak. Hope you find it and can get it fixed without having to replace the pump.

have you seen any signs

or subtle hints of smoke or smelled anything funny lately?
It could be the small return line on the pass side near
the firewall, (aprox $15 hose) or one of the pressure lines that are long and go under and around the motor for about $150...
Or hopefully just an $2 O ring under between the resevoir
and the pump. Looks for obvious leaks under the car or in those areas. You may want to pull off the lower catch panel too for a better inspection.

i see the leak both dripping under the hood, and some lines all greasy so thats what leads me to blieve its a hose, and no i havnt seen any smoke lately. I had the noise in the steering when it was empty but after i put the fluid in, it stopped and began to leak again (last night). So im assuming that by this time its empty again, ot near empty. Ok ima see what i can do... Thanks again guys

Sounds like you may need hose #
34610PA071 pre-formed hose, not too bad to
change. They usually get a pinhole leak in them
right on the 90 degree bend after about 10 yrs.
