DeLoreans O plenty

Im looking at 2 Deloreans for sale here in town this week. One was SS and had a turbo kit on it...
Somewhere Ive heard of it being a test car, not sure yet.
It needs full
restoration, but runs decent....19K miles, and then he has a white one painted from the dealer that needed full resto and it
needs a motor. Needs full resto too.
Seriously thinking about getting both, He's selling them as a pkg deal but they arent advertised. Both are low mileage 81s...
The dude like my SVX too pretty funny...
Keep you posted on what happens.....

twin turbo in a DMC

so Ive seen a 4x4 Delorean and a DMC12 with a
twin turbg RX7 motor in it..

http://www.eliseusa.com/rotary.htm

and since I may get this white DMC that needs an engine..
what would be better then installing a JDM EJ20
twin turbo Subaru motor, with a stand alone Link or
Electromotive system, ....this could turn into a pretty
cool project

Go for it!

Man, I've been thinking about doing the exact same thing for a few years new. Dump the gutless PRV engine and drop in a nice, powerful Subaru engine. I'd love to see someone actually go through with it. Just make sure you keep us updated on the project.

A subie engine would be VERY hard to fit in, due to the different style motors Delorean's V-6, Subaru's Boxers, it would be much easier to swap in a V-8 crate motor

I cant imagine a flat 4 would be any harder then
a Rotory tt. Either way it would be a project no matter
what. Shoot, Ive seen a Caddy Northstar V8 kits available
for them now..
Maybe an Delorean AWD Boxer 6 is the way to go !!

It's the width of the boxer that is the problem, the Northstar isn't as wide as the DOHC Boxer motors...putting a boxer in where a non- boxer motor was is VERY difficult, the rotory is much more square, more like the diminsions of a v-type engines, so they lend themself well into transplants.

but that Rx motor looked really cramp from
front to back with lots of room on the side.
Northstars arent anything slim by nature at all....
The boxer 4 is wide in comparison, but have you seen
how wide a DMC engine compartment runs ?
Its a wide ass car.....
