I've been building gliding models (mostly out of different kinds of paper) all my life, so I have a lot of the basic theory. I've never seen these SPAD planes before, but they really appeal to me because they're quick to build. Many possibilities for experimentation.

Could you tell me what electronics and engine you went with?

I went with the Hi-Tec 4 channel Reciever and Hi-tec HS-50 servos. They are not as small as the HS-55 but for my 36" wingspan plane, they are great. I used a MPI speed 370 motor with 3.5 ratio gears and 9x4.7 prop with 8 cell 8.4v powersupply. After the 8 cell was put in, i got about 18oz plane. It flew but it will not climb so I am going to switch the prop to 9x6 or 10x6 tomorrow and try again.
