Ac electrical problem....pep boys has no idea

Ok we'll I had a ac refrigerant leak so I went to pep boys for a leak test and recharge. They charged the system to find the leaks and everything was functioning as it should. Compressor running and the cabin was ice cold. They found the leaks replaced 2 o-rings and refilled refrigerant. After recharge I guess the tech blew a relay which he replaced which did not solve anything. It appears my ac compressor relay is grounded on all 4 sockets and my radiator fans will not engage or receive power unless we jump them manually. He spent two days trying to figure out what is wrong. My trinity switch also checks out as good. What else could this be and what else can I check to see if this is the control unit or ecu???

Did you check the AC 10 amp fuse?

Harvey.

Yes....I believe at least one of the 4 sockets in the relay should be powered. There is a light green, grey, blue and red and black/white I believe but I'm having problems reading the wiring diagrams

Re: Ac electrical problem....pep boys has no idea

It is always tough when someone that hasn't a clue gets to "fix" a car. Correctly recharging will have no adverse consequences. People can do things to a car that a car cannot do to itself, so... there is no clue for diagnosing this problem.

It is possible that the system when recharge was "overcharged, causing the compressor to start and quickly shut back off because of excessive pressure buildup... a safety component that is built into the system would do this. (I suppose it could be overcharged enough that the compressor would not even start at all.) That could have triggered a panic that would possibly cause a someone that had no clue to start with, to spring into action.

Sorry...

Keith

Re: Ac electrical problem....pep boys has no idea

When I apply power to the ac compressor ground wire the compressor clicks on. Now I'm really lost
