Valve stem seals?

The valve stem seals are quite deep in the lifter bores.... the manual shows a special tool for installing them.

Has anyone improvised? How?

Also, the manual talk about black and brown seals. The OEM seal kit has green and gray ones. Does anyone know which are exhaust and which intake?

Thanks,

/T

PS I installed the rear main seal using the old one and the flex plate + bolts as a driver. No drama

Re: Valve stem seals?

The green ones have "EX" and the gray ones "IN" markings.... so small, that my 50 years old eyes needed a magnifying glass to find them

I made tool for installing the seals from a nylon bar - drilled two co-centric holes - one for the stem and one for the collar of the seal and use the valve itself as a guide.

Works really well.
