finally got my brakes today, but one of the pads seems strange..

like the third one down, one of my pads does not have that little groove in the middle of the pad. is this intentional? i just assumed it would match the other ones, but i could be wrong. help a noob out.

if it's bad then i guess i have to wait for more shipping.. horray

I would email them with an attachment of your graphic attached and ask them to send you the correct ones along with a return label if they want the strange ones back.

EBC? be prepared to buy new rotors, too - EBC pads will score the crap out of your rotors. i threw the EBC Redstuff pads i had in the trash after a few months, along with the rotors they destroyed.

i didn't heed the warnings from the Legacy forum and learned my lesson.

Re: quickie about brakes

i can't tell if CBrakes is the brand or what, but they were cheap, and they feel nice. the seller emailed me today and told me the brakes are designed that way, and that if it causes me any problems to contact him. might as well. they come with a 1 year warranty.

Re: quickie about brakes

Brakes.. While I should not be confused on the issue I find myself , well debating. Like IDK 10 years ago I did rotors all the way around. could have done slotted or drilled but I stuck with stock rotors and pads. but had the rotors Cryo treated of course. Well it's time. WAY past time to do brakes. rotors are warped.
Guy had issues pulled up what the specs on new rotor thickness should be and what mine where as he said they could be turned and be fine. I'd rather not pay the 80 bucks a whack or more for dealer pads but they do seem to last a while and low dust and noise and I've seen a lot of issues with EBC pads.. so That's off the list. My next idea was to go with Akebono ceramic pads. Or Raybestos. Yet everyone is all the rave about the Carbon metallic. I can deal with dust I guess as most say the Carbon pads make a lot of it. The at the cryo place didn't recommend ceramic pads on cryoed rotors due to noise issues and complaints. The Jew in me says turn the rotors, slap on some good pads( Which pads if not factory I don't know) and be done with it. The pragmatic in me says get new rotors have them treated and put good pads on, Go another 5 to 10 years....

so any suggestions or good pads non suby pads that are low dust and quiet.. Let me know please.
