Re: CENTER BEARING on Propelor Drive Shaft

Is that an AT mount?

I put the Center Bearing in yesterday+this am .. and I think that was it! The old bearing was way off-center (below) in the old rubber mount.. which made me suspicious in the first place [but I subsequently thot with the car on stands, that would make the driveshaft hang down (press down on bearing).. BUT, that was faulty thinking since the diff doesn't hang down.. just the rear tires! Ha!]

Almost sure that will solve the problem.. creaking rotational noise! And, I was able to replace the heat shield (which it was banging into before). Haven't driven yet, cuz I'm still working to put in AT Inhibiter Switch.. maybe tonight?

Thanks..

P.S. I was able to get the center bearing out.. and back in.. ON-THE-CAR .. unlike the OEM manual suggested (take out exhaust pipes/muffler.. OH SURE!).. used the air driver to OFF/ON 200 ft-lb nut! while still on car (both ends driveshaft).
