Legacy VS Impreza manuall tranny

I have been looking for a newer manuall transmission,
And its cheap option to take 2.5L manuall transmission from a subaru legacy 2gen. Are this good transmission to use on the svx or is it better to take in use a impreza WRX tranny insted??

Re: Legacy VS Impreza manuall tranny

I'm running a Impreza 1.8 5-speed in mine....

Just depends on how you plan to drive it...
The WRX tranny will take more abuse, but if you drive it sanely then any Subaru Tranny will do OK behind the EG33

Ok
I see what you mean, But on smallcars home page i see they wrote we use transmission from Impreza legacy or forester. And its see to bee all are take from a 2.5L engine.
But the legacy tranny will handel litte power on it or?

My plan is to use a car in this type of ''race''

Alex it may be best to get a manual box to match your 4.44 differential.

Harvey.
