Is anyone using 50w HID kits... safe?

Hey everyone still tossing up about an HID kit and definitely something to replicate the halogen colour since they're illegal BUT I'm curious to find out if anyone is using 50w kits and whether they're ridiculously bright and more importantly don't draw too much current for the wiring and relay and everything to handle??

Thanks, Jordan.

Re: Is anyone using 50w HID kits... safe?

I have the 55w HID's in the high beams and they are ridiculously bright. They should be illegal and I should be in prison. No electrical problems so far with them that I noticed.

I think OT has put 55w in a relative's car in the low beam and said they weren't too bad there. IIRC he even said he couldn't tell much of a difference in the low beam projector between those and a 35w set.

Hi Jordan.
I put a set of 55W/5000k E-Bay genarics ($150.00 USD) in my Son Nick's SVX.
They are more blue, than the 35W/5000k that we have in several other SVXi, and they seem to show no more light onto the road.
But they are WAY better than stock!!!!!

I don't know why there would be electrical issues. They're the same wattage as the stock high beams and probably draw the same amount of current.
