Hey you "experts" different is the word you want. It's certainly not ugly.

People don't think it's ugly. I've gotten many compliments in the past 4 years.

lol i had people say my 1400DL sedan and 1400 GSR was ugly as well as my brumby my 82 leone XTs etc
but the funny thing is ive had people mistake them for so called cool cars lol as....
1400DL is confused with 70s corrolla
1400GSR for as Toyota SR coupe and datsun coupe
leone as an toyota corrolla too lol

another thing i think to myself when drivin SVX is that when sold new here they cost about 115,000 nz dollars. you get alot of car for what you pay for now.
so whats their car worth new lol

nah.. waste of good eggs...

Kidnap him and drive him around at 80 MPH and show him how his girlyman hair doesn't get messed up when the windows come down.

Most complete strangers go out of their way to ask what kinda car it is and they usually say some European make.

Tim,

You are way cool

My best experience was at a convenience store at a wide spot in the road in the desert, this guy says "must be an Italian exotic"

I once got the rain guard bit from the teller at a bank drive-thru. Mostly the remarks run along the lines of, "I've never seen a car like that."

Let's face it: Subaru has a knack for making ugly cars. But the SVX? It's still one of the best looking things on the road.

Re: Ban this book

yeah, now my Forester, that's pretty ugly,. but not the SVX

I see a lot of SVX wannabes on the road today- I think the SVX body style influenced a lot of other cars that came later but none can match the SVX's lines, imho

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Re: Ban this book

Got a copy from the local library - he (and his staff!!) do not know their car from the neighbours horse!!

Check out the mistake on page 169 (he calls it "a blunder from down under") - well it is completely the wrong photo slotted in there!!

2 photos (1 on each page) should be swapped over - bottom photo on page 161 should be swapped with top photo on page 169.

Shall we send the publisher & Author individual emails explaining the "small error" of his ways!!

Re: Ban this book

I drove this car all throughout highschool and if I could go back to the time my dad bought it, I probably wouldn't have gotten it. Don't get me wrong though, it was a good car. But just too many damn faults. I figure this after faulty wheel bearings, a **** transmission, warping rotors among other things but yeah, the car did look great! Just too many issues...
