The white wagon is probably another crazy prototype or show car that came after the Amadeus.
Does anyone know when the Amadeus was shown at the TMS? The article says it is "based on the SVX" so that wording suggests the SVX had already been in circulation and recognized as a current production car. The article also says there was supposedly a 4 door version of the Amadeus and "sources say one or the other will make production". I'm guessing this was when they were still hoping the SVX would thrive and when it didn't, any plans for wagon variants went away with it. It's also interesting to note that though the Amadeus is obviously based on the SVX, there are a LOT of differences. I mean in places where the wagon parts wouldn't have affect, like the whole front end with the more "modern" headlights, smoothed fenders, even the door looks slightly altered. The rear bumper looks like a smoothed out version of the Cloud one, accomodating the production SVX exhaust (tips on the outside edges, as opposed to closer to the center like the original SVX prototype). I often wonder if the Amadeus gave clues as to what the regular SVX coupe was planned to look like in its next generation, if it had made it.

The Amadeus debuted in '91. Most likely alongside the SVX when it was introduced to the public as a production car.
The rumor goes, that They brought Paul Hogan in to advertise the Amadeus, in production trim. He laughed them clean out of the room. At that point the Amadeus died, and the Outback was born. I don't know how true that story is, as the timeline doesn't fit. Paul Hogan wasn't brougt on until '96. The Amadeus would have likeley debuted in '94-95 Basing it directly on the SVX chassis would have cut development time drastically. Also having 2 cars sharing a chassis would have made both cars more profitable. Yet another way Fuji missed the SVX boat. As for what that wagon is behind the red prototype? I'm racking my brain, as I've seen it, I just can't place it.

It might also be this one:
http://carstyling.ru/en/cars.1993_Subaru_Sagres.html Which looks to be a reintroduction of the other one (SRD-1), with slightly different styling. It would make sense that they would be pictured next to each other, since the SRD-1 is supposed to also have a 3.3 liter 6 cyl engine. It also would fit the time line, since it was introduced late '80s/early 90's.
