An introduction to snow

My teal spent its formative years in extreme southern Georgia and northern Florida, so I'm guessing this morning's commute was her first experience with more than a dusting snow, after all these years. (I imagined the car thinking, what IS this stuff? Could be fun...) We've got a whopping four-to-five inches, I'd guess. Everything's closed, and the TV weather folks have been in the studio all night, sleeves rolled-up, under a "STORMWATCH '07" banner, or some such.

Biggest problem driving in this rolling terrrain is that inevitably you come up behind someone riding the brake with a white-knuckle, two-fisted death grip on the wheel, doing 8 miles per hour down a hill.

I live in MA and we have had a total of MAYBE 3 inches all winter. Off of our usual 90 inches or so.

The snow has pretty much stopped. Got a sleet/freezing rain thing going on at the moment. It's supposed to get to like 33 degrees and rain all day. That's typical winter weather for north Georgia. Mud season lasts all winter here.

A Saabaru-driving colleague is the only other person in the shop thusfar. Roads are a little sloppy but certainly not treacherous.

We are supposed to get some snow today. Still not going to be enough to keep everyone home from work though. When you work for Subaru it's kind of hard to tell them that you are snowed in unless there is 4 feet...lol.

We have a foot or more on the grass, and some ice all over the neighborhoods. We're supposed to get 5" more tonight. and next weekend there's supposed to more yet. now we have had snow fall 7 weeks in a row.

Geez! Makes me appreciate Maryland even more. If you don't like the weather here, just wait 5 minutes and it will change! One day it will be 60 degrees and the next 25 degrees...crazy stuff.

we finally got hit with the snow and cold temps the past few weeks. I had a 4 feet snow drift on my back porch.
My green svx is completely white with salt....too cold to wash the car.

Very little snow here, snow tires still in the shed. Not that I miss it.

Almost no snow in Ottawa, maybe 6 inches.

On the plus side, there's enough snow that the Forester enjoyed the ski hill parking lot today Single axis donuts...hehe.

I get out of the car and a guy comes up to me (he got out of a civic); "Dude! I wish I could do that!!!"

Me: "Step one: Sell the Civic."
