New braided lines - clips are wrong size.

Hi all. Just installing my new braided lines that have been waiting for me for ages.
The clips that hold the body end of the lines (to the bracket on the body) are the wrong size for the new lines. Is this normal? Do they need to be filed or what? The diameter of the line where the clip goes is much larger on the new lines.

Matt

I just installed my brake line hoses from Subaru. The end that connects to the brake line fits perfectly into the bracket from below and the clip fits snug.

yes, that's what my old ones look like. The new steel braided lines from Race Concepts are different.

Bring the brake hose to an auto store or a hardware store to match up a retaining clip for it. I changed all my brake hoses to the braided ones. Mistake. The inside is made of a plastic tubing and the brackets and ends are also plastic. One of them broke, that is why I replaced it with an original Subaru part. You can actually tell the difference between original and after market. You get what you pay for. Good luck.

Can you measure the diameter of the groove?
I use these.

The stock groove is 0.44", and the Race Concepts ones are 0.50".
I do not have a fresh set of Motorsports Warehouse SS lines, but will soon.

I used two "external ring clips" per line.
