Dash light
I have a question. Looking at your dashboard at night with your lights on, in the top left corner, there is the small image of the car, and the ATF warning light is contained within that small circle. Should that little car, or its circle light up? I just realized that it has NEVER been lit up since I bought my SVX a year ago, and I geuss I dont know if the bulb is burnt out, or if that particular circle doesnt light up for osme reason.
Also, I found in my glvoebox on the top that there is an elastic strap going across the top. I had never noticed that before. Anyone find any partuclarly good use for it? |

The small circle contains an image of a car and the words ATF OIL TEMP below the front wheel and FWD above the hood. The image of the car is not illuminated.
When you turn the ignition on, the ATF OIL TEMP should light up to let you know the bulb is working, then go out once the engine starts. The FWD light will come on and stay on only when a fuse is put into the FWD slot in the main fuse box in the engine bay. Sometimes you put the car in front wheel drive mode for maintenance or service. The fuse is normally not put in and therefore this light is usually off. As far as the elastic band goes, it is used to hold the owners manual up and out of the way, allowing more room in the glove compartment. When I got my 96, the manual in the black leather case was behind the elastic and I didn't see it. I thought it was missing. .

Ok, if thats how it should light up, then mine is fine. Its just weird if you think about it, because it is the only dash light that doesnt light up.
