How much would a sc/tc and 5mt or 6mt swap cost?

I just want a ballpark figure for parts and install through a reputable shop I know of. I'm trying to decide between modding this car or selling for a newer sports car. I like the low insurance on the svx and modding her would definitly be original around here, so I want a ballpark pricetag for 300+awhp. I have a 1992 LSL. If parts and install are less than $7k I'm definitly going to do it.. $10k'ish is my absolute limit.

The reason for those prices is because I could buy a mustang or camaro with that much power for around the same.

5k for a 5mt install if ur lucky on parts

6.5k for the S/C parts alone not inlcuding the install. not cheap but it is really personal preference

Tom

I certainly don't want to question the Swap God . . .

I thought it would be more like 1.5k for a 5mt install if your lucky on parts, 5k for a 6mt install?

A good '04+ WRX trans cost $1,500 by itself. You can do a 5/6spd swap for cheap only if you can do the work yourself.

Oops, read all of the words . . .

"ballpark figure for parts and install through a reputable shop"

I was thinking of self install, I had only read the thread title and Tom's reply . . .

you may want to talk to SVXfiles about his supercharger install. From what I understand it would cost quite a bit less to do his set up than the stage 3

Or you can just spend about 2g on the Koni GC set up and do what no mustang can.....go around a corner

From what I've read so far it's not worth it. I think I'll just get a bike instead.. so cheap, so fast.

I did my 5 speed for under $1000....but I did all the labor myself.....and got pretty good deals on my parts...

But yeah, if you want to go fast for cheap....get a bike....even a slow bike is faster than most cars.

I may do a 5mt swap still. I'm too lazy to research, but would I be able to install it myself? I fix industrial mailing machines for a living so I know how to use every day tools and my buddy has a lift.. Is there a lot of custom fabbing needed or is it pretty straight forward? Reason for the tranny swap is because I think mine may be going out soon and I'd rather have a manual tranny anyways. Plus the awd bias would be better
