The rears on the other hand I think should work for our race car since it is a whole lot lighter and all. Only hicup for us is the size where it mounts to the hub. Imprezas and Legacies are smaller in there than the svx by a couple of mms.
Are you using the WRX front struts then?

WRX H&R lowering springs front and back. Front struts are SVX with Koni inserts. Rear are not really there as they don't have much oil left in 'em. We're kinda looking at the Tokico WRX rears on ebay at the moment just out of price.

can't you just measure the strut rather than the whole STi Spindle??

Thinking back, I seem to recall seeing in one of the brochures that the 05 STI has the struts inverted????

I have no idea why? Or how that would affect the mounting, but it still has to mount somewhere? right?

Doesn't inverting the struts reduce the unsprung weight therefore improve the handling?

Talking

Well after spending enough time at the parts counter to piss off the worker, I found out many things that might /might not help you. The rear strut tops on 04 05 STi are the same and the top bolt pattern is 4 1/2 x 4 inches. I'll look to see what the SVX is. Hubs on WRX to STi are diff but 04-05 STi the same, and use diff hub spindles (hence the bolt patern being different)

SVX front strut length is 22 1/2 and rear 24
SVX front strut bolt pattern is 5 x 4 1/4
SVX rear...have to go to the storage

I will give up some info to help you out that is not known, but will help your handling. The STi lateral links and trailing arms are the same size as ours....a bit expensive but given the pillowball bushings it would help get rid of some of the slop.

Just in case you guys havent figured out what Im doing I will give up my little (expensive secret)

There will an SVX with Brembos and coilovers coming soon......
