Suspension

Does anyone know if coilovers or some other type of suspension is avaible for the SVX?

I wanna go a different route than everyone else... , but the only real thing I can find are Koni Struts...

I'm looking for something that will slam the car low, but will also be really really stiff... I suppose adjustability would be a plus too...

Does that all make any sense, lol... ?

You could always try going with air. Check out Universal Air, et al for ideas.

Koni struts, Ground Control coilovers = my old setup.

Got a massive drop from those coilovers. Not that I will ever lower any car that much again, but it was doable.

Ride height is adjustable, Strut firmness is adjustable. More than firm enough for me, enough to ruin the car's handling at full firm.

Typically, aftermarket air suspension is stiffer than OEM. There are a number of companies out there making air springs that install over OE struts. You can go from street grater to stock height+ in just a few seconds.

If you really want to be different and have the $$$, try K-Staff's Bilstein/Tein coilovers or Flatt-Racing's Aragosta coilovers.

You could get WRX lowering springs and put 'em on it. We're running H&Rs on our racer now. Rear is still about stock height with all the weight lose but my guess is a stock SVX would be about an inch lower in the rear. Front is another story. You'd have to figure out some sort of way to raise the perch up about 2 inches or go with struts that have a higher bottom shaft. We're about 3 inches lower than stock with about 400lbs less weight up there. By the end of the week it will have WRX front struts on the rear too.

Are the WRX rear struts too long?

PS got some WRX hubs/spindles coming my way soon to do some measurements ( I might have to change rims to 5x100, but opens more options)

Ya, I saw that second one the other day on Dayle's website... I really need to win the lotto, lol. All my car dreams could then come true, hehe!

Will let ya know. Personally I don't think the WRX hubs will work talk about bearing issues with the added weight and all. They don't seem to be from the measurements I had taken. Will need to have the bottoms spread out a bit and the holes adjusted but other than that they should work. They're in my foyer at the moment but I'm too tired to look now.
