Rough idle, and engine light.
I just got my svx running with the 5spd, and i have been driving it around with no problems ecept this one. I was driving to the subaru dealer to get a part diagram, I picked up the digarm and went back out to my car, I turned it on rough idle, almost sounds like a miss, and the check engine light came on. I shut it off looked uned the hood, no leaks, no unhooked hoses that i could see, oxegen senors still hooked in. It did it all of a sudden it was running fine then i came back out and tried to turn it on and this happened. I unplugged the ECU and will plug it back in to see if that fixes it. I drove it back home and it ran fine ecept at idle.

Check codes.
You could have a number of problems, the Mass Air Flow sensor comes to mind, or maybe one of your O2 sensors on the cats.
Use the plug to check the diagnostic, it should tell you what the Check Engine light was for. You should probably clear the codes when you have noted the problem, and see if one comes up again. I was told that it was something to do with my speed sensor... My car did this too... Well kinda... It was kinda a rough idle but most of all it would stall sometimes... The mechanic said that it wouldn't be o2 sensors or MAF sensor because it would run like crap all the time... We are thinking that it has something to do with the speed sensor from the 5 MT.... Not totally sure though....

I reset the ECU and it ran perfect this morning, hopefully it keeps running like this.

Now the car runs like crap again only at idle, The check engine light came on when i braked hard driving around, and then hit a bump and it went out, and ran good then came back on 30 secs later and is still on.

Did you try to pull the codes while the check engine light is lit?
