Subaru's Tech Website

The following is a press release issued in the last couple of days by Subaru in the US:
Subaru Launches Technical Information System Web Site
-- Premium Service Feature Provides Dealers, Independent Repair Facility Technicians and Consumers With Access to Subaru Technical Resources --
CHERRY HILL, N.J., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc., the only car company that offers symmetrical all-wheel drive as standard equipment on every vehicle in its product line, today announced it launched the Subaru Technical Information System (STIS) Web site. This new premium service feature provides dealers, independent repair facility technicians and consumers with access to Subaru technical resources.
Resources such as service manuals, owner manuals, technical service bulletins, monthly technician newsletters and other technical training materials can all be accessed via the Internet. With the Subaru Technical Information System, technicians can now access Subaru service information via wireless e-tablets while standing right next to a vehicle in the service area.
"Subaru is very pleased to offer this new premium service feature to dealers, technicians and customers nationwide," said Jim Sinclair, Vice President of Service for Subaru of America, Inc. "The STIS Web site offers the most comprehensive information resource of Subaru technical information and is conveniently available online to further enhance the Subaru customer service experience."
Subaru of America Inc. will maintain the site with the latest, up-to-date information on all Subaru vehicles manufactured from 1996 to the present.
Users can search for or browse publication titles and descriptions on the site at no cost. Documents can be either downloaded directly from the STIS Web site or ordered in printed form through an e-commerce interface. The search results indicate where to download the document or how to add it to the shopping cart to receive a printed copy in the mail.
The Subaru Technical Information System is available today on a pay for subscription basis for electronic document viewing and downloading, or per- item charges for printed documents. For additional information or to access the Subaru Technical Information System Web site visit http://techinfo.subaru.com/.

Bad news is there's no SVX material. The good news is that it's coming!

Looks like a great website - it's a pity they want so much money for the information though. For the $2500 annual subscription you could buy every one of the service manuals.

Once they add the SVX section, I'd be tempted to buy the 72 hour subscription and then download the entire site onto my own webserver.

Why is there no Justy section?

Phil.

That's it. No SVX? No Justy? Screw that site - I won't bother with it!
