Pressure Washer
Looking to buy a pressure washer for cleaning the house, driveway, and of course the svx. What is the minimum psi and gpm I should get? Anyone know of a good one they've had luck with.

I would recommend at least 2000psi with 2+ gal/min, and make sure it can be adjusted down in pressure somehow. My wife picked up one from Wally World make by Campbell Hausfeld (spelling?) that's rated at 2400psi at 2.2 Gal and the engine is a 5 or 6 hp Honda motor. I'm pretty happy with it. It replaced a Sears craftsman 1600 with a Briggs engine - it sucked (see why below), of course YMMV.
The thing is that with higher pressure you can open up the spray to a wider fan pattern and still get enough pressure to clean the surface. A low pressure unit and you have to keep the pattern down to little more than a point, which means it takes forever to clean a large surface - when you start to clean the driveway, etc you'll understand. |
