EA81 Wagon Hitch on Ultimate Subaru website

Hey SVX'in there is a very heavy duty looking hitch on the Ultimate Subaru Website message board for sale section. The guy wants $50 bucks. Now this one does look a heck of a lot more substantial then the one on my brat and I'm guessing the one up at Harry's U Pull It. I'm still planning on going up regardless on Sat afternoon but I understand if you'd rather go with this one (since you're gonna be towing a ton and all). I'll probably pull it anyway if it'll come off that is.

Ultimate Subaru

Here's the link. If it doesn't work just type in ulimate subaru on the yahoo search engine. It'll be the second site

This is an old thread, but I followed a guy today in a pearlie that had a hitch just like Mike described. Had the smaller square opening for a receiver type affair. The plates then went in where the stock tow hooks would be. Seems like it would be simple for anyone with a cutting torch and welder to make one up from a donor. The small size didn't make it look too bad. Traffic separated us before I could get alongside to ask about it.

The SVX 007 was looking at befor he decided to save the one he had, had a hitch on it. I didn't really pay close attention to how it was attached but we instanlly decided it had to come off if he bought the car.

You know at the time I thought that the SVX would be able to pull a trailer with the nice engine that it does have the great torque and the fact that my Dad used to pull the same boat with a Thundbird (V6). But now that I think back I am glad I never put a hitch on the SVX, she has had a ruff year without it. But I did get a hitch for my old wagon (GL) and despite her 200,000 miles and all she pulls 2000 lbs. with no problems except going up a hill...but with the new addition to the family (a '97 outback) the good ole wagon can now take her well deserved rest from towing. But speaking of wich, does anyone know the cheapest place to get a hitch for an outback?
