TPS adjustment?
how do you check the adjustment of the TPS? hold gas pedal at WOT and set for max (or min) resistance, or will the resistance on the sensor go further than what it needs to be set at - sensor will show Xohms at full travel, but WOT should be set less(or more) than that. does that make sense? thanks for any help!

I usually set all cars the same - .5-1.0v at closed throttle. However this is Subaru's prescribed method:
Check resistance between throttle sensor terminals #2 and #3. Readings should be: 10 - 12 K ohms - throttle fully closed 3 - 5 K ohms - throttle fully open If readings are not as specified, loosen throttle sensor mounting screws and rotate sensor until reading is achieved. I would be more concerned with the closed throttle setting. In fact, now that I think of it, I think I remember this being backwards from the reading I had on my car - it's been too long ago. I think it was a typo on their part. Anyway, I set mine by voltage and have no problems. Unless you've moved or replaced yours there should be no reason for it to be out of range.

i took it off to clean it awhile back, and the "mark" i made on it to put it back on was a little shaky. i shoulda scribed a mark instead of using a pencil. it acts a little funny at high revs. i just wanted to make sure it was in spec - i didn't know how touchy it was. i'm gonna replace the O2 sensors (usually replace them around 60k on my cars so i don't have to worry about them) and the knock sensors soon. hopefully this will alleviate my cold acceleration weirdness. just trying to get everything in order. this summer, its belts, water pump, T-stat, and temp sensor. thanks again
