Question

Oh, no! More decisions. I just realized that grooved rotors are uh...directional. So, do the grooves point forwards like the rims, or backwards like my rims did when I bought the car?
I would hate to be snickered upon by the purists here.

Ron (need a good rim shot).

There should be an L or R stamped on the rotors - they mount swept back - opposite the way the rim spokes look.

I ordered the rotors(Wow, what a deal it was! ) But the tracking number they gave me isn't working right.
When I try to put my number in, and select which courier, it tells me the tracking number is wrong.
Is it just me?

re: tracking number

nope it's not just you. i can't track my package with the tracking number either. it says the number is invalid. i emailed elvis and he said that the number is right. also fyi - when you order from irotors.com, the order does not ship out the same day you ordered them. if you ordered them on tuesday, it would ship out the following monday. they only ship out on monday's. ground for east coast will take at least 7 days. 3 day select would cost approx. 30 bucks more than ground, but it really doesn't do crap because it ships out on monday. i ordered on thursday expecting to see it on tuesday, but nope it'll be the end of the week before i can see it.

btw - i got pads with the rotors to see if they would not squeal.

Better hurry guys!

I just finally ordered my rotors today, and Kim told me that there's only 2 sets of rotors left! They're drilled/slotted.. She said after those are gone the prices go back up!

Kim told me that the company they get their rotors from jacked up the price for the SVX rotors. I believe it was in the $320 range.

zinc coating

gratz zepplin, but it won't get shipped out until next monday then you have to wait for shipping

anyway, i think they'll raise the price 50 bucks. to get our business, they threw in the zinc plating/coating for free. they did not make as much probably because of that and the 10% off.

Um, she told me those last sets were in stock and that mine would most likely ship out tomorrow... She told me to expect them early next week.. Don't know why everybody else was different?

You need 2 pads for each rotor and if you want to change out the praking brake pads in the drums you will need two drum pads for each rear side.

Well...maybe on average

each front takes 2 pads and each rear takes 4 (2 for discs and 2 for e-brake drums). 12 pads/4 wheels = 3 per wheel

How long has it been since you bought your SVX now?

Unless one's playing "games" with the parking brake, how on earth is it possible to wear them drummy liners out?

Ron.
