they both have around the same hp and same features and price range

im leaning towards the evo due to the tried and proven 4g63 wich has been mitsu bread and butter for 10 years runing. and the after market is a lot cheaper and easier to work on then a wrx sti.

but again i love subarus =>
I don't know if I would buy it the first year it came out just because there might be some (probably not many at all) bugs in the new engine, But an STi, vs the EVO thats coming here... STi hands down. more horsepower (300 vs 276 i think?), more torque (300 vs 268(i think)), better (IMO) AWD system, and its going to be faster which in the market they are both going for (same price range) speed is the KEY.( this is coming from the Motor Trends mag i read today about the EVO VIII)

It's not INAPPROPRIATE to compare the sti to a porsChe (didn't know the spelling nazi would be watching) or an acura nsx, it's MY opinion. Iam tried and true subaru, so i think it's better than both those cars, except maybe a gt2.

yes, spelling nazi watches joo all.
may not be an appropriate comparison when it comes time to sell - the Porsh and enessex will probably hold their value more. i hope that's the case, so i can get a used one on the cheap.

The same caliber as the STI. God no! I'm just saying, for the price I bet they sell more crap Neons to the whitetrash domestic lovers that think there getting a fast car.

Don't implie that I like Dodge, thats not what I ment.

Up until today I have only heard of about 260 or 270 HP in this new STI. I have now verified on several websites that it is indeed 300hp!

Here's one of them with more pics:

If I had the money I would be transplanting the whole drivetrain into an SVX *drool*
