Help! Final Art Project Due Tomorrow!

I was going to carve a cool structure from pink insulation foam, til I realized that that stuff can't carve.

Anyone know any quick and dirty art projects?

Requirements:

Must be 3d. This is a 3d design class.

ACK!>

Yeah yeah, I know I shouldnt have waited this long.

You can use insulation foam...you just have to use some kind of heated tool for it...

...but I wouldn't do that indoors.

You could stay up all night and model something out of Sculpy, bake it and paint it with acrylics so it dries...

get a hold of some reasonably thick paper (something that can stay straight and rigid.. bristol board works well) and make a scale model of a house.. jazz it up as you see fit, but don't draw anything more than windows or doors on it. I didn't want to bother trying to figure out a pitched roof on mine, so I put a flat roof on it and said "It's designed for a desert lifestyle.."

shouldn't take you more than 2.5 hours to make a totally sweet looking house..

ok heres and idea, take flour, newspaper and water and make paper mache....use a hair dryer for quick drying and colored tissue paper for accents. painting is nice too. use like hanger wire for the base....i did a volcano that actually errupts, using a piece of plywood for the bottom. another idea, use the hanger and make like one of those hangy things, just be creative with the stuff you use and tell the teacher some BS about how it is special to you, you'll be fine, just don't panic

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Not a bad idea. Sketch it up first to figure out the layout and how you're going to build it.

Even better, if you have a Kinko's, you could quickly paint up the walls and roof and stuff in Photoshop (or Painter or whatever) and have those images printed on some heavy stock...then build up the house from those pieces...

Which is why I recommended Sculpy. Grab a block of it, start fiddling and eventually an idea will come...

Sculpy is relatively inexpensive. Some basic sculpting tools are relatively inexpensive. Acrylic paint should be cheap.

This keyboard sucks ass. If I'm on the newer iMac there are fewer typing mistakes... yes, I spell things wrong, and I don't take offense to it if people correct me. I find some members grasp on the English language simply atrocious; the FOREIGNERS can type, spell, and write better than some people who's main LANGUAGE is English. Pathetic.

But yeah, I'm getting a new kb for Xmas. This one is just shot. Blech.

heres a couple ideas you could use.
1.) random pieces of metal. just take crap out of your garage or whatever you keep little bits of metal, then make a "sculpture" by glueing them together.
2.) popsicle sticks are cheap easy to use and by cutting them you can make some pretty cool looking things.
3.) like Mr. Pockets said SCULPY.. stuff is amazing
4.) carve something out of foam rubber(use like a saber saw if you have one)
5.) use foam core board and cut out peices and make a structure using peices that fit together sorta like a puzzle.. its more involved, but you could paint certain pieces, and if your an artsy type shouldn't be too hard

sorry i couldn't be of more help... hope you get it done in time... plus what do you need sleep for???
