Respray

Just got my car back from Dave Heinrichs, who did a respray with total body prep. All dings and dents, minor unseeable body imperfections, hail dings filled sanded and the whole thing resprayed. Same color, emerald pearl. Fiberglass hood is now body color instead of black. Car now has 97 grille. Next job, replacement of split rear seat backs, then off to an interior shop to see how much stain removal they can do. Photos next weekend.

Great to hear. Is there a difference between a paint job and respray? Is it just a finish coat? How much did this job cost?

It was a bumpers off, all trim off repainting. Body was completely sanded down. All irregularities were filled and sanded. Painted then 3 coats of clear-coat. $5k.

It was primed. Used Sikkens water-base and Sikkens clear coat. Don't know if lower cladding was removed. Will look closely at car tonite.

Looks like the cladding is still on which will result in the clear/paint cracking where it meets the door.

That's why I asked. Kind of important considering how the cladding mounting points are the first thing to rust.

Clips are a few bucks for all of them. Cheap considering the cost of the paintjob.
