Roof Leaking?

This morning I got in my car and noticed drops of water falling from the molding in front of the driver visor. The roof liner is all wet right next to the windshield. It has been raining for about 20 hours. A very light steady rain.
Anybody know where it's coming from? Sunroof or windshield?

Thanks

John,
I had this happen to me, also. Was there a sustained wind? When this happened to me, there was a sustained, approximately 30 MPH wind for a long period of time. I'm guessing that, somehow, the wind blowing across the top of the sunroof was kind of like blowing across the top of a coke bottle, but, instead of whistling, the water was pushed through the gaskets. It happened to me the one time and never again.

RJ,

It was not real windy outside last night, just a very light rain. We need the rain. I parked in the same level spot I am usually in. Never saw this leak before. I hope it goes away......... without fixing anything. That would be great.

Well, mine did, I'll wish you the same good fortune. Perhaps the water was just being poured in quicker than the drains could handle it. I checked my drains and they were fine. Hopefully, it's just a fluke. Like I said, I haven't had trouble since. G'luck.

You could also apply silcone and see if that might help stop the leak.

Here's a likely fix...

My car leaked once after a high pressure wash in the same spot as yours. I put black silicone on the outside seam between the roof and metal framing the windshield and got an immediate fix.

I also had a leak in the same spot. It hasn't reoccurred for a while and I've since driven in the rain.
