Wipers

I need a new set of wipers but I know for sure that the ones I have on just aren't the right ones. I looked in the owner's manual and it says nothing about the type/lenght of the wipers.

Can anyone pitch in?

Re: Wipers

22" for the driver and 19" for the passenger side is ringing a bell, but I'm not totally certain. A parts store should be able to look it up for you though.

Re: Wipers

Ah, that's very nice info, thanks

Are ALL wipers of the same angle etc. It's a global standard, I can't go wrong as long as the inches are right?

Re: Wipers

I also use 19" wipers in the rear instead of 18". Only extends 1/2" more on each side of the arm and increases the wiping area.

In the U.S. any "universal" refill would do and I imagine it's the same anywhere. I like ANCO blades. You'll have to decide whether to replace just the blade, or the entire assembly. I prefer the latter.

Re: Wipers

I still use the OEM assembly with the bumpers on them (which are still available from Subaru). The narrow universal inserts work well. Last time I ordered blades from Subaru they only lasted a couple of months. Ithink they were so old they had rotted.

I did something similar last time I changed the front ones. The 20" one I was replacing was in better shape than the 18" one on the back, so I swapped it over. Actually increased the area that gets wiped by a good amount, especially the top section of the window. 19" would fit a bit better I think.
