Wink Re: New Pics For Spring - My 1992 Pearlie

Such a gorgeous, truly refined example of an SVX.

And, I like it just a touch more without the rear wing (like in the one photo above .. but I am partial to that look, having removed the rear spoiler from my Ebony). I think it makes the car look more grown-up and reflects its true (for me) nature.

Regardless of my opinions ... beautiful car

Re: New Pics For Spring - My 1992 Pearlie

I agree....I am putting money in mine for the same reason. Love the car it looks great!! I have a set of Muranos on mine right now, I have a set of the RX8s in the wings ready to go, after I get some paint done on the front bumper. It is a tossup which wheels I like better. Like I said, I think these cars are a bargain at $10k let alone at the cheap prices one can get these for now. Worth keeping them nice for as long as I can.

I really like the urban decay backgrounds.

Mike, is your car on the stock springs or lowered a little?

They are the motorsport warehouse springs. The ride is nice, and the stance of the car is perfect. The quality of them, however, is pretty poor. They are very very rusty as the coating has all come off of them, and I have never driven my car in the winter. Had i known, I would have sanded them down and painted them with something better when I first got them. I have a set of the fully adjustable coilovers coming from the guy in France (hopefully), so I haven't made fixing these springs a priority.

Re: New Pics For Spring - My 1992 Pearlie

Oh, okay. I was just curious since I'll be putting those wheels on my car very soon. I wanted to know if my car would look like that...

...you know, because I expect putting those wheels on my car will automatically wash off the dust, clean the mold out of the interior and scrape the oil stalactites off the bottom.

Sorry to hear those springs are rusty. I've been taking my adjustable coilovers off my RX-8 every fall to prevent just such a thing from happening. Doing that has not, however, preventing a couple of the dampers from being blown.

Re: New Pics For Spring - My 1992 Pearlie

Mike,

Who did your 5 speed install?

Can you provide the specifics on the MOMO steering wheel you used and what you had to do to get the horn to work? Is the airbag still functional?

Thanks.

Bill

Re: New Pics For Spring - My 1992 Pearlie

I think after everyone sees a pearly in condition like this, they want one. Mine needs some paint touch-ups and new wheels and exhaust, and she should be bragging ready! I still want to bring her up and have you detail her though, and she has to meet your pearly

The steering wheel is from jdm bugeye sti. The airbag doesnt work in mine, but it could work by swapping the ignitor from the svx airbag. The horn was really easy to figure out. There was one wire to hook up and it was very obvious. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out!

1986Nate did my swap, including providing the custom crossmember.
