Going to pull-a-part, please guide me!

I am going to pull a part this weekend and wanted to get some input on removal procedures and the necessary tools. I need to be prepared ahead of time because I'll be 5 hours away from home (FYI, I'm not going that far just for the SVX, I'm going to be close to a PaP that has one already for other reasons).

I am looking for information on how to remove the following and what tools will be required. Please go easy on me, I've only had my SVX for less than a month so far.

* Driver's door sill (pretty sure it's no tools and just pulls up to release the tabs)
* Dash switch for cruise/fogs/security
* Button for openign center console
* Trunk lid spoiler

I appreciate any info you may have!

* Driver's door sill (pretty sure it's no tools and just pulls up to release the tabs)You'll break the tabs when you pull it off
* Dash switch for cruise/fogs/security These should just pull out and then disconnect from the harness
* Button for openign center console I don't know if you can replace just the button, might as well take the entire center console and that should just be screws
* Trunk lid spoiler 4(Four) 10mm nuts

I appreciate any info you may have!
Hope that helps

Re: Going to pull-a-part, please guide me!

Thanks! Regarding the door sill, are you saying it's not a removable piece? Or just that they are fragile and not likely to come out like they are supposed to?

Are you saying the switches literally just pull straight out? How do you get a hold of them to do so?

Re: Going to pull-a-part, please guide me!

All easy stuff.

- Door Sill will just lift out but it is held in place by 4 plastic fins with metal tabs on them, and they have a tendency to snap off so go slow and be careful. Maybe bring a thin flat small pry bar, that can be slipped under to pry up at the fastner connection point.

- Dash buttons have a cover that slides off then they just pry off. There is a PDF in the How to for Instrument cluster removal. Part of that process is shows the removal. Here is a Link, page 2 shows the switch removal.

A flat head screw driver to help pry them out should make it easier.

- Center console will just need a Philips screwdriver, 2 screws and yeah take the whole top.

- The spoiler is just 4 bolts, very easy access, but a set of metric socket would be best.

Knoxville, TN. Someone made a thread about it in the FS section and luckily my fiancee has to be in Knoxville Sunday so I'm tagging along. As you know, my other plans for parts fell through completely :-(

Re: Going to pull-a-part, please guide me!

Not sure what route, and yes all day. It's 5 hours one way, lol.

I looked today and I did not see the screws to remove the center console. Is there a how to or does someone have a pic? I think I'm good on the rest. Thanks for helping an SVX newb!

Re: Going to pull-a-part, please guide me!

The console lid has the screws at the rear. Look for the hinge

To remove the center console, there are 5 screws. 3 underneath the false bottom of the pocket, and 2 at the very front of it, on either side of the shifter, on the sides, under removable trim panels. You will also have to remove the shifter surround.
