holes in trunk
i took out my spare tire the other day to clean it out and there was a fair amount of rust forming under the stock sound deadening.
i tore it all off and there are 3 holes that are at 9,12,3 roughly of the wheel mounting point. anyone know why those holes are there from factory?

I believe they are drains, I leave one open just in case
 You could have water in there for a week and not notice it.

Yep, that. ^^
I also use them as access to get rust proofing oil/undercoating in there. The SVX had a ridiculous number of plugs for that.

I'd still say they are drain holes. Paint that whole area, top and bottom, with POR-15 and call it a day. If it were me I'd get some dynamat and replace what was taken out too.

POR 15 is a hardcore rust treatment paint. It's good stuff, but if you can cut/weld, that would be better.
