My '97 has my '92's engine and she's running!

Got the call from my mechanic that she's done and runs well. I'll pick her up tonight.

The '92 hadn't run in 5 years so it was a bit of a crap shoot, but after it got stripped down and the good bits were swapped in from the '97, and new head and bottom gasket sets, timing belt, water pump, & thermostat, she's done.

Can't wait to bring her home!

Nope, other than the EGR stuff swapped over from the intake manifold, everything is mechanically 100% the same, and the ECU will be fine. The 3rd O2 sensor is on the body harness, so that's not an issue. The OBD2 EGR is actually quite different from the earlier cars. EG33s are all pretty much the same. (As I just learned) the water pump is different on some of the Euro cars, and the Japanese cars didn't have any EGR stuff at all. All the essential sensors, and mechanicals and stuff are the same.

What he said...

All I know is that it works! Got her home last night after a short run. It was great to have her back and running well. It's still throwing a CEL that I suspect is the 3rd O2 sensor but I haven't pulled the code yet.
