4WS SVXi Questions

Im interesting in finding out some info on 4WS SVXi from owners of the 4ws verson.

What are they like to drive?
Would you prefer a SVX with 4WS or not? and why is that?
How do they compair to a non 4ws SVX?
Have any one had any problems with them before?
Is it easy to put the rear aliment out on them?
Is it easy to do damage the 4WS motor/gearbox?

Im thinking I may get one for my next SVX if one comes up.
Also I got some spares for a 4WS so that could be handy if I got one.

Thanks

I have both and I much prefer the 4WS version. The steering is more responsive and the car feels more stable when cornering at speed. It corners flat without diving and rolling towards the outside front corner.

The 4WS electronics have a reputation for failure. But I have not had that problem with either of my 4WS cars. I did meet a guy at a car show with failed 4WS electronics.

The only problem I have had happened when a tow truck driver attached a winch to one of the rear steering rods and ripped it off. My local Subaru dealer had never seen a 4WS SVX before, but they were able to source the parts from Japan and repair it.

Spares are always a good idea!

Do you know what parts of the Electronics pack up and why it does that?
