finally free of the curse
My title finally arrived in the mail for the 92 svx. Drove it one last time (like a madman since everything's broken or on it's way out) down to my volvo mechanic's shop. He'll put the car on auction, and whatever it gets at auction it gets. Probably enough to cover the taxes for my new ride.....
'95 Volvo 850 T5R sedan. The SVX was fun, but it really was a curse. So many things went wrong with it, and the cost to repair it was enormous. I never really managed to track down all the bugs in the swap, and the tranny was starting to show the first signs of deteriorating. It's been fun, but I'm looking forward to my yellow turbo brick. I'll stick around though, still have an '11 outback 3.6R limited in the family...

Re: finally free of the curse
I can't say I like that Volvo but I am happy for you, and am guessing it will be a lot more reliable. I know that SVX has been a nightmare for you and you are regretting the money you spent repairing it. I think most of us here have been in a similar situations with our SVXs, at some point. Sometimes you bite the bullet get the repair done and all is well, sometimes it don't work out and you move on. Based on your posts I think you are doing the right thing by moving on, and I wish you many happy miles in the Volvo.

Re: finally free of the curse
Nice car. Did you luck out on an AWD? My son and I are on Volvo #8. Ben is very active on the TurboBricks forum. Check it out, it's dynamic. Unfortunately for you, our Reading is in Birmingham, Alabama. The bottom line is, we both love the Volvo's but, the SVX has to to stay a part of our lives. Can't explain it but, a week can't go by without a drive to put a grin our faces. Many days I'll come home from work and it is missing in action.
Yeh, when it comes to cars, we have kept a close relationship. Gene

Re: finally free of the curse
Indeed they are.
I remember reading that they have a pretty bad greenhouse effect though.
