Re: I have a svx replacement

I am borrowing my brothers 03 accent while I finish my engine and I must say, not even a hiccup out of the engine. I learned how to drive a stick in this vehicle and the clutch has taken the abuse quite well.

However, the interior quality is a joke. Both cupholders are broken from simply holding 12 oz pepsi cans. On top of that the lighter socket ripped out of the dash and right off the harness when my phone charger got stuck in the cheap piece of tin they use.

I don't think I will ever pay money for that kind of experience with a car.

Re: I have a svx replacement

there is a huge difference between an 03 accent (bottem feeder) and a 2010 Genesis (upper level car). Besides price there is 7 years worth of engineering that should have improved many things in the car.

The only bad thing is whose design will they steal once they put everyone else out of business. Styling wise they have a lot to learn (then again so do the Japanese companies), interior wise- they still lag behind but overall they've come a long way in the 24 years they have been here.

I had a friend who had a brand new Excel back in either 86 or 87. Talk about a &%^ box but then again it was only $5900 or so out the door.

Your mom must have loved you an opted for the radio. His didn't even have an am radio and of course it didn't have wiring for speakers in it. What a pita trying to run speaker wiring without breaking that cheap plastic covers!

she did (and still does). this is the middle trim level that had painted bumpers and a cassette player standard. my options were auto transmission, upgraded cassette, and power steering.

Re: I have a svx replacement

This kind of strikes me like comparing a very old Subaru GL 3-door hatchback, to a brand new fully-loaded Tribeca, or WRX STI. Or a new SVX, if Subaru were building a commensurate car today.

That is a pretty wide net to cast.

Your right! Only in this comparison the gl 3 door hatchback wins except for rust protection hence the reason why I do not own a subaru anymore nor will for the forseeable future.

SVX is an awd, heavy,...low ground clearance...better tires...etc

your rental Kia is fwd(most likely),...lighter, higher ground clearance...stock tires....etc

I feel safe in my kia for regular ride...if I know what I have....what it can do....what it is not capable of doing .....

I must say, I gained a ton of respect for Kia after I beat the crap out of this rental while my silver was at the body shop for about a week and a half. Shortly after is when I found out it is owned by Hyundai which left me much less surprised. Still had a lot of fun though.
So where is your video clip? I remember you're gonna post it lol.

I was looking for a good gas mileage car. I happened to rent a Kia rio for one week. Before returned, I also did some fun and donuts. I was surprised how well it held up and etc. Pretty fun and good ride for a small car.

So I had one after two months. After 2 1/2 yrs +....73000miles intensive drivings....I still like it....I m thinking what shld I replace for my same purpose...dont know yet...

Kinda agree. Nowadays, they have quality, reliability, performance and look. Another main thing, good price with long warranty.

The same thing could be said about a 1940 Volkswagen bug!
