pics of the new beast,

here are some newer pics on the new evo x

we just finished the /wheel suspension package

suspension is BC coilovers
wheels are rota grids 18X9.5 with yoko's 265/35/18

this is my time slip from last friday night

bext time was 12.55 @ 108 fully loaded on pump gas

only modifications are a TBE, Intake , Reflash every thing else is 100% stock on the engine side

the car is also verry heavy at 3,500 lbs

some race gas, shed some weight and a better 60' time it should be into the hi 11s on the stock turbo with just minor bolt ons

Re: pics of the new beast,

That is one sexy car Solar, nice figures on a heavy 4cyl car.

No cams yet?

P.S: I could use your rear diffuser for my next mod

no cams there pretty pricey for the amount of power you get from them, for the same price you might as well upgrade the turbo with the basic bolt on turbo upgrade puts you around 550 hp range with the Fp red,

the reflash made the most hp almost 80 more hp and redline increased to almost 8,000 rpm anything above that requirese cams

the most fun is in the handling department with its super AWD and Yaw control for the rear diff

Really? A reflash = + 80hp? Mannnnn, wish the case was similar for the SVX.

Re: pics of the new beast,

Ron, you should watch that episode of Top Gear where they compare Solar's beast to the hatchback STi.

I know exactly what Super AWD and Yaw Control are

Did I miss a link to Top Gear?
I've read and seen mentioned the Mitsu Super AWD and Yaw Control, but can't say that I know exactly what it is or how it works.
Would like to know more

Re: pics of the new beast,

[edit] Active Center Differential (ACD)
Active Center Differential incorporates an electronically-controlled hydraulic multi-plate clutch. The system optimizes clutch cover clamp load for different driving conditions, regulating the differential limiting action between free and locked states to optimize front/rear wheel torque split and thereby producing the best balance between traction and steering response.[1]

[edit] Active Yaw Control (AYC)
Active Yaw Control uses a torque transfer mechanism in the rear differential to control rear wheel torque differential for different driving conditions and so limit the yaw moment that acts on the vehicle body and enhance cornering performance. AYC also acts like a limited slip differential by suppressing rear wheel slip to improve traction. In its latest form, AYC now features yaw rate feedback control using a yaw rate sensor and also gains braking force control. Accurately determining the cornering dynamics on a realtime basis, the system operates to control vehicle behavior through corners and realize vehicle behavior that more closely mirrors driver intent.[1]

Thanks for the reply ,

On the Active Center Differential, what is the range of torque transfer, between free and locked?

The AYC is also electric? What is the range of transfer of torque IN THE REAR DIFF, from one side to the other?
