Alcyone hood emblems on hand

we just got only a few new ones from JP
some chrome, some chrome and gold center..
think we have 5 left..
unfortunatly prices have gone up for whatever reason
to $105 each.
but for anyone interested, they should email or
call us asap , they wont last long.
Ive tried contacting those who have had them on order
for the last yr or so already too.

I want one so bad but!!! I just can't bring myself to part with that much money for one. I simply will not buy anything with a several thousand percent markup. It's just impractical.

I feel the same way, but tell that to the people that support the multibillion dollar businesses that bottle it, also most from the same source, but just ran through another filter.

PS: I still have two Alcyone emblems (1 silver and 1 gold) that I am saving for potential future SVXi. My current cars already have them on as well as 3 that went to other family members.

Suit yourself, Im just trying to make a living and
help those interested in finding hard to find JDM
parts get what they want. Not sure where you are
getting your info from, but 1000% mark up ????
With the dollar sinking vs the Yen, our cost on these
is almost $90, then add shipping priority mail to the USA and Im lucky to be making $10-12 each.
Thats about a 10% mark up. Thats not including my endless emails and time wrapped up into the whole
thing with my contacts in Japan trying to get these.

That said, I have now about 5 left...for
anyone interested, dont know how long they
will last, maybe a few weeks or a few months.
My contact in Japan just found me 4 more chrome and is holding those for me till my next order.

Re: Alcyone hood emblems on hand

I remember when the Alcyone hood emblem was 3660JPY ($29.64) back in 2001.

That price did not include shipping or commission, which on an order of between 1 and 50,000JPY was 12.5% (minimum 3,000JPY) which was about $24.30.

That same 3660JPY today equals $38.88.

No sir, you completely misunderstood me. Let me explain.
When one goes to lets say Macys and buys a $80 bottle of perfume or maybe a $200 pair of jeans, the manufacturer (not the retailer) makes insane profits on these items. I believe this item fits into that category, even after the fact that it does come from overseas because practically everything else does as well.

I did not mean that you personally make such a huge profit. I apologize if it came off that way.

This thread is completely frustrating.

Dayle, when my paint is complete I would be happy to purchase an all-silver one for the Ebony.

Thank you for taking the time to source them. I appreciate it.

Re: Alcyone hood emblems on hand

Don't get down on Dayle guys, they're listing on ebay for $120+

It could very well be that at this point in time Subaru is no longer making this and may have even ran out of old stock? There may be a few of these middleman jdm part resellers that have what's left and realize they can charge more now that they control the few that are left in existence?

At any rate, I think they'll eventually sell at that price, seems there are still some out there not affected by these hard times. Anyone who can afford right now to spend $100+ on a hood emblem while some of us can't even keep our SVX going proper should probably refrain from complaining in any political related threads.

Thanks for keeping these available Dayle.
