Thank you everyone. It's a sad lose to the SVX comunity but at least i still have Sandy, thats what i was really concerned about at the time. I would sacrifice my SVX to save her life anyday.

As for what im gonna do now i dont know yet, but if i decide to part it out you guys will be the first to know.

Wow. Glad nobody was hurt. (Good thing nobody was in the back seat.)

Will the doors open and close?

Truck bumpers really ought to have to be lower. Imagine how much less overall damage there might have been if the SVX's bumper had taken the brunt of the impact.

Damn Jess, that sucks... Glad Sandy is OK.

The problem with most of those rental trucks is that they are driven by people that normally don't drive a truck

A while back, someone posted prototype sketches of a SVXBrat. IMO It looked like crap, but this may be a candidate for the build.

You like to take on "odd" projects

I thought the car looked pretty cool. The black hood with the black trunk looks pretty neat, IMHO.

Save it! Save it!!!!!

Jesse,

We have the entire rear end of a red '96, if you are interested in saving her. We can let you have it for nothing, and we might be able to deliver it as far as Harrisburg, PA. Thank God (or whoever you pray to) that Sandy is okay. That is the main function of the Safety Vehicle Xperimental, after all.

PM us with whatever you decide.

Tom and Di

Great to hear your lady is safe, and reassuring to see what one of these cars can endure. Hope all continues well for you two. Lokking at it in that condition does raise the thought of a 2 seater brat/el camino project. Just a thought if she cant be fully restored.

wow, very glad to hear she is alive.
A sad event indeed but it does make me feel safer in the svx.
sorry you lost the rear end of yours. Good thing no one was in the rear seat - they may have had it pretty rough.
shocked to see the front end looks like a mint pearl still!

at least the stevebsy bumper is intact. yank that thing off before the insurance guys get to it

Thats terrible man. I'm glad your girl came out of it fairly well. But the loss of that Pearly is a great loss to the entire community. It was the best looking pearly I've ever seen.

Jesse, I am so sorry to hear about this. I agree that I am very glad she is ok even after the removal of the air bag Lets hope you can hold onto the car and find a nice replacement to swap it all over to, I know you had a LOT of time into that car...

Again thanks to everyone for your words of support and offers.

First I'm kinda glad it went over the bumber it probly saved the second most valuable part in the car (the drive train) My girlfreind being the first.

I think mostly all of the aftermarket parts were spared witch is good, and there is no way the insurance company is taking off with this car, they can have the shell if thy want but thats it.

And after laying in bed for awile tonight not able to sleep i think i have decided to rebuild. I still have a perfect undented un rusted 93 shell i can transplant into. Figure i can start from scratch make it lighter and faster with a new paint job. And at the same time after loosing one SVX to the scrap yard i will be saving another one that was on it's way there.
