348BHP Alfa Romeo Brera...

This years new release from AutoDelta is this amazing 348BHP Brera (Q4)... 0-60mph in 5.1sec, top speed 162mph . Wonder how it would fare over here if Alfa releases this model in USA.

enjoy,
-Pavan

I still say that if subaru would've done the whole SVX thing this day and age, the car would look something similar to the Brera.

I mean, look at the SZ;

Fifth Gear drove that thing... and although it looks cool, and has power, I guess the chassis sucks, and the car drives like a 1980s GM land barge. Vague everything.

Yes ofcourse.... Fifth gear never appreciates/like Alfas... before they actually test drive it, they start giving conclusion on Alfa cars. Watch topgear episode, even though they say that Brera is slow, finally they all opt for Brera over TT and RX8.

I would say Alfa made mistake by discontinuing SZ, the same way Subaru did for SVX. If they both reintroduce those models with some more designing upgrades to the present market, they will definitely get recognition.

No, they appreciated it's styling, and it's power, but they hated the way it handled. It's a secretary's car... it's way too soft, vague, and spongy. They said this only after driving it, which is about the exact same complaints they had in the Top Gear episode you're referring to. And no, top gear did not 'decide' it was better... I thought it was James May was the one who said he preferred it over the others, but the other guys disagreed with him, and ended up liking the Audi TT better.

Then you should watch this portion of the episode.... atlast they all prefer Brera secretly over other cars even though they say they wouldnt recommend for others. Even I wont recommend any Alfa to my friends unless they are true petro heads.

They said it's the worst one. It handles like crap and rolls through the turns, it's just way too heavy, or the suspension is just junk. It's pretty, but I think they're best to just 'look at'.

I dunno from where you are reading such bad/pathetic reviews and its not that bad at all.... maybe it may not match up to that german luxury of TT, but currently it sure is considered as a standup competitor in that sector.

Check the Fifth gear review here

"Recommended. Alfa is back at the sharp end of the coupe sector with a car that drives as well as it looks.

We like:

1) Great looks
2) General feeling of refinement
3) Agile handling.

We don't like:

1) Lack of headroom
2) Tiny rear seats
3) Wind roar from mirrors "

Anyway its known thing that people either love/like Alfas or they will just hate them. So, everyone has their own tastes and impression .

Are you kidding? Watch the thing roll all over the place in the fifth gear video.

Also, check out this video of 5th gear:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DfBnxT1FP0

They absolutely hate the handling of this car. And it's easy to see why.

I like Alfas a lot, but I don't really care for that car much. I like the GTVs, 164s, etc.

I'm so confused it hurts. You're all saying 5th gear, but you're clearly quoting a specific episode of Top Gear. Tiff Needel = 5th Gear. Jeremy Clarkson = Top Gear

Let me add, that in Top Gear May drives the front wheel drive version L4 of the Brera, a vastly inferior car to the V6 AWD model that was too good to be compared to the RX8. Same with Clarkson and the TT, he had the L4 FF model, cause the RX8 is junk.

FYI, "Stars" allegedly walked all over an RX8.

Nope the episode that I am referring is not of Tiff Needel's, its the other guy Tom Ford's episode where he drives an AWD version. The GTA version is also Q4 version. Tiff Needel did 159 review. As you said, May tested a FWD version. Their decisoin might have changed if they had driven a AWD version.

LOL... I am not sure if you are sarcastic by saying that... , but i just wanna share about this car to other members, I am not looking for everyone to like it and also I am not sayin that its the absolute best car among all others... . On the other hand, its not that bad at all and I dont think it deserves to be compared as a piece of junk.

Sorry, I suppose it's hard to tell without tone of voice. I assure you there was no sarcasm there. I clicked the link you provided and blatantly saw the "5th Gear on FIVE" lol.

I as well think the new Brera is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen.
