Differential or Tranny ?

Hi,
I have 92 SVX and today I got starnge symptom while I was parking
the car. When I pull into the parking space I felt the resistant on
the wheels. I don't know this is differential or transfer case. However,
when I start the car next morning, I get blinking "power" lights. What
do you think? How can I check the differential? I think it is differential
problem, but I need your help. Please let me know what do you think.
Thanks.

p.s. I check the TCU code and they are fine. The power light is blinking
only after I fell the resistance on the car.

You may have a solenoid C issue. If it only binds while turning that means your AWD clutch is locked on and will not absorb the rotational difference between the front and rear tires when turning.

Try to reproduce the error to get the TCU error code so you know for sure.

Remember that when checking codes, if there are no error codes the power light will flash continuously. If the power light doesn't flash do got the procedure incorrect.

It make sense.

Thank you.

I do not get error code and keep bliniking - "no error."

However, the power light blinks when I start the car after I got

resistance on wheels. It happens when I turn the wheel and

try to park the vehicle.

If the solenoid C is the problem, how hard to change this one?

Thank you for your input.

That means you're not following the instructions exactly as listed. Have someone else watch you try to pull the codes. They may spot the mistake.

No error Code.

No, I meant I followed the correct procedure and got flashing power light. There are no errors. Any thought? I guess the solenoid is getting bad.

Can you tell me where the Solenoid C located? Can I change the solenoid without taking down the tranny? Thanks.

It's located in the transmission "extension". It's best to replace the solenoid and clutches while in there. TomsSVX would be a good person to ask about the procedure.
