Yet another 97 gone...

The bastid in the Pathfinder went on the wrong path. One less 97-maybe for sale if the insurer lets us have it.

Sad, but it does look repairable.

From that one picture it sure looks repairable.
Is the windshield broken?

Total

I am pretty sure it is totalled. In 98 my 94 was it in front like that but limited to the right front with no airbag deployment or glass damage. It should have been totalled but the insurance adjuster thought it could be repaired more cheaply than paying me the total loss. He ended up wrong as it cost a touch over $10K to repair it.

It's the airbags (useless in this crash-she didn't even touch them at 20-25mph). They cost about $3000 and the passenger side bag dorr cracked the windshield(another $1000).

And Liberty Mutual said they can only sell us the car back if the frame damage is less than 4 hours work-otherwise not salvagable-some sheet, huh?

Doubt it but I couldn't get the hood open. It started and ran barely to move it a 100' afterwards.

This just sucks!
Its one thing if your car gets bumped and they shower you with money and let you keep it, but when they frag your car and tell you to pi$$ off, then I get mad

I was thinking if it was pushed back, which looks to be the case, everything back to the rear axles could be damaged.

Being a 97, It's worth it to get a 95 or above parts car and start swapping. It looks no worse than my 92 looked and it's back pristine on less than $1,500. (Not counting repainting)

I'd buy it back and project car the thing back in shape if the frame is OK.
(And from the looks, the frame is fine.)

pfft. itll buff right out. Tell the insurance company to **** off, youll fix it yourself. If the kelly blue book wasnt such a jerkass, mabey there would be more than 3 svx's on the road.
Assuming its only cosmetic damage, just get a hood, fenders, and lights, take out the airbags (Cus who needs those anyway?) yank the rad support back to place and bam, drivable project car
And if not, then who knows, mabey Ill buy it off you

As long as there isnt frame damage. it can all be fixed. my dad's 92 looked the exact same after he went under a jeep. we look parts from my first teal svx. and the pearl is drivable again. just needs to be painted all the same color now. lol. but yeah,. dont let the insurance companies F with you. Make them pay to replace everything. and have it done by a shop of your choice.

That small prang would not be a problem to insurance companies or panel beaters down this way and while it was being fixed you would be provided with a loan car, no charge.

Man try to fix it, there is no CHASSIS damage there. when you push the brakes, the svx nose plunges so the damage is only related to the hood and a little bit to the headlights. Mechanical parts can all be replaced, what matters is the chassis in a car and no else...
