UK vs AU differences

I don't know if this is a standard or common difference, but there is a fundamental difference between the two interiors shown above, and the UK black interior in mine.

The difference is the carpet. My carpet is black, not the purple carpet shown in both of these cars.

Berger's car is the three-tone variant. His profile says 180 K clock. That and the three tone colour scheme would indicate Japanese import. Yet a picture in the locker shows a 240K clock in the car. Updated?

I only mention the above, because the black over claret JDM car I sold had the purple carpet also, so I am suspecting it was standard for the JDM market, and possibly standard for the AU market as well.

Which poses the next question; did any of the AU models come with a black carpet?

Otherwise, the interior looks basically the same.

Joe

Thanks Berger.

My mistake was presuming you meant 180 kph on the speedo. All is now clear.

That three-tone colour scheme was never offered here, so any cars with it are personal imports by default, in these markets. So it would seem to have been a colour choice for Australian cars, eh?

Well, that only leaves the issue of whether Oz cars came with the black carpets.

James, did your graphite grey car have a black carpet? Any Oz owners with a black car, and black carpets?

Joe

My 95 has the dark Gray trim. You could mistake it for black from a distance, but up close it is Gray.
The three tone model was the first ones to come here. The first road test that is saw was in Car Mag and it was the tri coloured one. Although the under hood Pict's were LHD .

That's all good history, Harvey

You neglected to say if your Bordeaux Pearl has black carpets [or even very dark grey ], or are they purple?

Joe

I can answer that one.......

Yes - my carpets are black, as are the seats.
