Coolant Temp Sensor???
There's been a slight issue lately with the racer. When the engine is cold, it starts fine. And, when the engine is hot, it starts fine. But when it is warm, like after sitting for 20-30 minutes it cranks and cranks but won't start, smells real rich.
We're thinking it's the Coolant Temp Sensor?? Would the SSM verify this??? Is anyone bringing either of their two SSM's to Reading ( Tom???)

My experience showed the sensor to only affect cold starts.
Any codes after the cranking? Possibly crank/cam sensor?

Coolant Temp Sensor almost always affects warm engines.

he is right. The hard start when warm is usually a temp sensor.

Curiously, my brief episode of hard-starting happened only with a cold engine, at around 32F. Replacing the ECU temp sensor solved the problem... or it vanished coincidentally.

works both ways. The ECU doesn't know the coolant temp and doesn't know what is going on so it goes to default which is not always optimal. At least thats what I think

When the ECU doesn't know the engine temp it goes into limp mode (rad fans on, etc)

or as I like to call it, default. Same thing really, just messes with the fuel and timing tables and can cause hard starts
