No worries on the tools. If you want to bring your own cool. Most of everything at the Hobby shop is well maintained Snap-on and Craftsman.
So 2-3 days on base then take 2-3 more days to sight see and break in the new Tranny

You should hook Tom up with some of that cheap base hotel stuff. ?Do they still do that? Anyway cheap room with a bed and a roof.

Just E-mailed the guy that sells the STi 6 complete kits on Ebay. Hopefully when I'm ready to buy he'll have what I need for the price he quoted Dan.

I might be able to find u one cheaper just give me some time. Those guys always want too much. how about $3600 plus shipping??? If I had more time I would say I would drive out there but I cannot afford to miss work for that long. PM me about the going rate

I remember telling me your connection gets em at 3600. This guy was sellin the set up with the knuckles, starter, clutch parts (master cylindar), and I think the brake master cylinder. I have a couple months to source a 6spd and parts. My budget is 4500 for parts.

If this connection is the same connection that I have, then last I heard he was unwilling to part with any more units without the STi engine along with it. Too many unused, unwanted engines kicking around in the garage, he said.

Fixed it I'm a bit of a "stickler" to the idea that the SVX is not an SVX without the 3.3L H6. Not saying the STI engine wouldn't be cool...it would be...but not an SVX. Do I sound like a prick yet?

Anyway, back on topic now, even though the 6MT is heavier, it should actually preserve the "marginal" SVX front/rear weight balance. I'm doing a 5MT w/WRX tranny and I don't like the idea that 100lbs is going to be lost between the axles...that's where I want ALL my weight to be
