245/45-16 on 8" wide 16 inch 3rd Gen RX-7 rims = 6.5 lbs lighter per corner than the stock rims + 225/50-16 tires.....any questions?

If you went with 48 mm offset, there should be no rubbing. It will be very close to hitting the fender lip though. I just bought a set of 17x8 Bronze Torques. I'll have pictures of the wheels mounted on my car in a week or so.

Thanks. Let me know if they work w/o any rubbing issues. The bronze wheels on your Laguna Blue car will look hot!!!

You should see mine when they are rolling........... 18's aren't good for AutoXing though... Tires are a little bit more expensive .... I'm gonna do the Subaru Challenge on the set that I have to detirmine if I really want to trade down to a set of 17's instead... Even though I don't like the wheels that are on my car at the moment, I love how they contribute to the way that the SVX looks when it is rolling

Shouldn't be any problems with rubbing because I'll be running 225/45-17s. I want to run a slightly narrower tire to improve initial turn-in responsiveness.

The sidewall is stretched just a little bit more to fit on the rim. The tire will not roll over the side of the rim quite as much during cornering, and the car should have a slightly more precise steering feel.

I kinda know what you're referring to Mychailo. I had 225/50/16 tires on both my former stock wheels (16x7.75) and my current RX-7 wheels (16x8). The turn-in with my RX-7 wheels definitely feels a tad sharper, and I find my tires roll over the rim much less when I auto-X.
