"Help" SVX Bike rack

Does anyone know of a bike rack that will fit the svx without drilling into the roof. I would like to get a trunk mounted one and don't see why they wouldn't work but all the racks i've looked at say they don't fit the SVX, and I don't know anyone with a rack to try for myself.
Thank you

I've tried trunk racks before, but the spoiler is usually in the way, leaving bare metal resting on it.

I have a roof rack that I bought from the previous owner, but I've never actually put it on the car, so I don't even know who made it.

Unisport makes a rack for the SVX. My mom is a Unisport dealer - i could get pricing information if you're interested.

I've killed a spoiler that way before. The key is to put the top metal part under the spoiler and the other metal part sticking on the licence plate frame. It works.

I've carried 2 bikes from chicago to detroit to northern michigan and back to chicago that way before.

I would be very interested in the pricing info, Thank you.
Is this rack a trunk rack by any chance? I would prefer the trunk mount rack over roof mounted.

About killing the spoiler. I've seen racks go onto cars that have spoilers on them and the metal poles seem to go over the spoiler then angle back down toward the back of the trunk..

If I'm not mistaken Subaru made a bike rack for the SVX. I have an accessory catalogue buried somewhere and will try to find the part number.

Sure do! "Saris Bones #2", I believe is what I use.
If you look closely in my locker, you'll see it. I flipped
it around, so that the bottom two arms straddle the
license plate. I also make sure the car is absolutely
clean before I put it on....
What kind of bike?

Tim

Nothing special, just a mongoose from costco i got a few years ago, and the other is a royce union my brother got at fred meyer.
Overall they arent too bad, reletively light for mountain bikes, and both have full suspension. I was looking at the Saris Guardian 2, wodering if that would work. Its reletivly low priced and has the side to side stablizers.

I strongly suggest the Bones rack: I drive like an idiot, and my
bike weighs at least 50 lbs., and I've never had a problem!
I use our Chevy Trailblazer's hitch rack mostly, and in fact a few
years ago, a gentleman on this site welded framework from
in front of the axles, below the frame, and out the back....
on his SVX, so that he could have a hitchrack. It was beautiful, but a little too permanent! He carried a windsurfer, and was Australian. Good luck!

I have a rola rack and I love it. It is very high quality. It is expensive though. I got mine used and was a lot cheaper than new.
